How an Non metallic Centrifugal pump Works
A centrifugal pump uses a high-speed rotating component called an impeller to generate centrifugal force. Fluid enters the center (eye) of the impeller and is accelerated radially outward. This converts the mechanical energy from the motor into kinetic energy (high velocity). The surrounding volute casing then slows the fluid, converting the high velocity into high pressure (potential energy) before the fluid is discharged. The non-metallic components ensure maximum chemical resistance.
Key Features & Benefits
Our non-metallic pumps are designed with the user’s operational needs in mind, providing significant advantages over traditional metallic options:
- Superior Corrosion Resistance: Constructed from high-performance thermoplastics, our pumps withstand aggressive acids, bases, solvents, and salt solutions, ensuring a long operational life.
- Contamination-Free Pumping: Eliminates the risk of fluid contamination by metallic ions, making them perfect for high-ppurity applications in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and food industries.
- Robust & Durable Construction: While non-metallic, these pumps are built to be robust, offering excellent mechanical strength and resistance to abrasion.
- Easy Maintenance: The modular and compact design facilitates quick disassembly and reassembly, minimizing downtime for maintenance and inspection.
- Energy Efficiency: Optimized hydraulic design ensures high efficiency, resulting in lower power consumption and reduced operating costs
Materials of Construction (MOC)
We utilize a variety of cutting-edge materials to precisely match your fluid chemistry, temperature, and pressure requirements.
Material | Chemical Resistance Profile | Typical Applications |
Polypropylene (PP) | Excellent resistance to many acids, alkalis, and inorganic solvents. | General chemical transfer, water treatment, brine. |
Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) | Exceptional resistance to halogens, strong acids, and aromatic/aliphatic hydrocarbons. High temperature capability. | Bromine, chlorine, high-purity water systems, acid recycling. |
PTFE / PFA Lined | Universal Chemical Resistance: Virtually inert to almost all chemicals and solvents. Excellent for high temperatures. | Highly corrosive chemicals, pharma intermediates, hot solvents. |
Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP) | Similar universal resistance to PFA/PTFE, often used for lining or molded components. | High purity applications, strong oxidizers. |
Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene (GFPP) | Enhanced strength and pressure capability compared to standard PP, maintaining good chemical resistance. | Higher pressure chemical transfer, general industrial chemicals. |
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) | Good resistance to dilute chemicals; excellent impact strength. | Effluent treatment, low-concentration chemical dosing. |
