Working Principle of Rotary Gear Pumps
Rotary Gear Pumps operate using two intermeshing gears—one driven (driver gear) and one idler gear. As the gears rotate:
- Fluid enters the pump suction side
- It gets trapped between the gear teeth and pump casing
- The fluid is carried around the casing
- It is discharged at a constant rate from the outlet
This mechanism ensures pulse-free, steady flow, even at high pressures.
